I giggled at that.

“Or maybe he’s simply got a job that requires a nice suit?” I suggested, mocking him slightly.

“Don’t get me wrong, I like unique styles. If I didn’t I wouldn’t be managing a band, and I tell ya, the band I’m managing must be aliens, they are all crazy and I love it!” he said with a big grin.

I laughed, thinking of the band. They were great! They seemed a bit crazy, but crazy in moderation is a plus.

We had finished our food and it was time for us to leave. Dave had paid although I had tried paying for myself. I was very independent and didn’t really like guys paying. I always felt like I owed them something because of it, or that they expected more from you. But he insisted, so I thanked him kindly and let him pay.

The rain had stopped briefly as we walked out of the pub. He gave me a big hug that lasted a few seconds, then took my hand and kissed it.

“See you Friday Alex.” His gaze landed on my eyes and he was standing close to me.

”Yeah, see you then,” I said happily and took a step back before turning and dashing off back to work. I didn’t turn my head but could almost feel his eyes on me. Or maybe I was just imagining it.

I turned the corner and was back at the art gallery.

Work went by smoothly and time seemed to pass quickly.
