ONE PRECIOUS MOMENT

“Shut up Aashi.”

Then mom spoke “No Aashi, that is not all it takes. Your sister was just a little more unconventional about it, as always.

I will make sure I speak to you before you too surprise us with something more than this.”

While mom was talking to Aashi, Rahul spoke close into my ears scaring the shit out of me.

“Sooo, I got kissed by you, huh.”

“Freak, are you crazy? Do you want to give me a heart attack? I am barely able to process what is happening and embarrassed enough that my dad saw us this morning and now you are creeping up on me like this. And what do you think you are doing? My parents are standing right there, will you stop whispering into my ears. Move back.”

When he doesn’t I turn around angrily only to stop dead from saying anything seeing the love and mirth in his eyes. Holy cow, he was having fun at my expense.

I am just about to burst a vein when he says softly -

“You are being observed, so think very very carefully before you shout at me.”

Saying this he smirks and moves towards dad. I turn to see that he was right, I was now the centre of everyone’s attention. Despite that I couldn’t help myself from calling him out.

“Saved by the bell or in this case parents.” I pause before adding drama to my next statement

“But Mr. Singh, tomorrow is another day.”
