“I knew it!” Michelle screamed at Sara.

“You hurt my ears.” Sara covered her ears.

“What happened? I mean, how did it happen?” Sara tried to explain from the beginning.

“He came on time, and it was a little bit different.”

“How?”

“I don’t know. I felt different.” Sara tried to remember what happened.

Sara saw Joe walking to her. He always wore neat clothes, and was shaved clean. He always wore good cologne and clipped his nails clean. He seemed much stronger than the first time she met him. She liked teaching him; he always listened to her carefully and practiced at home. When she pointed out something, he fixed it right away.

“Michelle won’t be here, but we can practice what we have been learning so far.”

“Good.”

“Have you practiced at home?”

“Yes, I did.”

“Well, lead.” Sara smelled something different on Joe.

“You’ve been doing great,” Sara said and it was true. He had a good attitude, and that made Sara so happy.

“Thanks.” Sometimes Joe made a mistake, or missed the step, but Sara could always help him remember the step. She was feeling great dancing with him. She closed her eyes and imagined them dancing on a cloud. When she opened her eyes, she looked into Joe’s face. He was amazingly charming. Sara felt strongly attracted to him.

“So, when did he kiss you?” Michelle was being inpatient.

“Wait, so the music ended, but I wanted to keep dancing, so we danced without music, and he was just… so hot, and I just kissed him.”

“You kissed him first?” Michelle was so surprised, and Sara thought her eyes were pop out.

“Did he kiss you back?”

Sara nodded. “Oh, I still don’t understand how that happened. It was me, but it wasn’t me. I just did what I wanted to do without thinking. That never happens to me.”

“Oh, my gosh! I have to tell someone!”

“No, stop. Who are you texting?”

“Jennifer and Kristine.”

“Please, listen to me, I’m not done yet. He is leaving soon. I don’t want to make things complicated.”

“So what? Sara, listen to me. You think way too much. There are a lot of people who do long distance. He will come back, or you can go there. I think he is a great guy, and I think he has money too. He will take care of you. Or if things don’t work out, it is still fine. You just met a great guy and had an unforgettable experience. You said you wanted experiences?”

Sara exhaled. “Yes, that’s true.”

“Sara, it is ok to follow your heart. Do what you want to do, only think about your happiness.”

“I guess you are right.” Sara was glad that Michelle was there.

“And if you are not happy, you can always stop. It’s your life. You are in charge.”

“I know that. I think. I think I am happy about what happened.” Sara thought about Joe. She realized that she really liked him. That was true.
