Scene Forty Nine: Scotland Yard

The police have taken the British Library’s manager and his assistant into custody.

Detective Inspector Forehaw:

Now, Mr. Haslam, tell me exactly what happened when the relic was taken.

Mr. Haslam:

It is all something of a dream; I can’t seem to recollect anything of detail. I know someone called Mickey Mouse came in and took control.

Detective Inspector Forehaw:

Mickey Mouse?

Mr. Haslam:

Yes, he was very authoritative, but very nice.

Detective Inspector Forehaw:

What did he look like?

 Mr. Haslam:

I haven’t a clue, maybe my colleague can tell you.

Detective Inspector Forehaw:

Mr. Barker, can you remember anything about this Mickey Mouse character?

Mr. Barker:

Not a thing, he was like a ghost, and the whole thing is like dream, I feel queasy just thinking about it.

Detective Inspector Forehaw:

What about the other men, who were they and how did they get you to open the vault?

Mr. Haslam:

I don’t know; it is as my colleague says a bad dream.

Detective Inspector Forehaw:

Well you are both under suspicion, several people saw you walk out with them, so you will be kept here until you come up with a better story.

 Mr. Haslam:

But I am telling you the truth; this Mickey Mouse person is the one you want.
