17.3. Selecting materials

The materials are the same as for the device from Figure 14 (except for the materials for the arms 12 and 13, etc. and the reducer Z1 to Z4).
Duralumin – rolled metal or gray cast iron could be used to make the disc 11. For the friction brake it is possible to use steel or other suitable materials. The brake pad 12 is made of friction lining or gray cast iron. When the disc 11 is made of steel the pad 12 could be made of aluminium. The scale is aluminium platinum with marks or aluminium foil on any kind of base.
