18. Conclusions

Several conclusions could be made based on the 15 schematic diagrams of a time measuring devices designed. The first diagrams 1, 2, 3 and 4 are based on electrical energy source drive [20]. The concept here stresses on achieving a satisfactory mechanical stroke regulator. The characteristics offered by the centrifugal and aerodynamic resistive controllers of rotation speed are used. The following Figures 5, 7, 8, 9 and 10 involve alternative driving principles, which are also used as speed regulators. The major part of mechanisms described involve traditional commonly used dial mechanisms that cannot be subjected to too many changes as they have a fixed transmission ratio of 1:12 for the hour and minutes hands [20].

In some of the other arrangements, Figures 14 and 15 a linear spring is used as the simplest mechanical element capable of supplying driving energy [20]. The alternative models described in Figures 9 and 10 are based on manual re-loading by turning upside down as is the cases for ancient sand glass although involve a relative simple mechanical arrangement as is the kinematical dial hand driving diagram [21].

We think all schematics are feasible in real conditions in the present. An exception is the device from Figure 6 due its larger size. We consider the schematics from Figures 2, 10, 14 and 15 as the easiest to be made as a working model for a time measuring device [21].
