#16. The Drug Problem and Sensitive Kids

There are many personality traits among people and no two people are the same. This is the beauty of the human race, the individuality and yet the ability of people to relate to each other. Though personality is the beauty of human nature there are still many associated problems that can be attached to it. A major aspect of these problems comes during the teen years of an individual’s life. There are many problems that can show up and if they are left unresolved the results can be pretty disturbing at times. Time is considered to be a great healer but there are many things that it is not able to heal. Drug addiction is one of them.

A major problem that has surfaced recently is that of teenage drug abuse which has resulted in a dramatic increase in the number of addicts in that age group. Also, it is not something that can be taken lightly. It is wrong to think that it will rub off like the teen years themselves. This is because once one is addicted to drugs this habit is very much going to go hand in hand with them for the rest of their short life.

There are many examples of teen drug abuse that appear in various studies on addiction. People have mentioned that they started doing drugs in their teens for one reason or the other and then the habit stuck. For those who were able to kick it off at times or during the various stages of their lives they ended up going back to their old habits once they were faced with the slightest triggers. Though there are many success stories as well, still the majority of the results are not something to be happy about.

The issue gets really problematic for those teens that are extra sensitive. Often the teen stage is itself a very sensitive time and makes even those who are not of that personality type in general quite sensitive. If we add to this one who is indeed a sensitive person, the outcome is pretty bleak. In fact these are the kids that are the soft target for those drug dealers who are out there hunting for more customers. Distracting these kids from the right track is not a big issue for the professionals so if you have kids with sensitive personality traits it is important that you give them the extra care needed as well.
