Creating a Layout

1. Open a new combination of Tracks for editing.
Each Track may have been edited before, individually or together with other Tracks, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that you open precisely these Tracks. For example, to create a Layout for a string quartet, select Parts on the Tracks Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola and Cello, and press [Ctrl]-[R].

P The order of the Tracks does not matter - you can reorder them in the Arrange window without removing the Layout. However, the spacing of the staves in the Layout is related to the order of the Tracks.

2. Perform some type of editing that affect the Layout.
Check the list above. You might for example add Layout symbols to one or more staves, drag bar lines, adjust staff spacing, turn on staff separators, etc.

3. Close the Editor by Keeping.

If you instead Cancel all changes made in the editor, no Layout is created.
