Under your Dashboard find the menu Settings and select Permalinks. Under Common settings you want to select the option Post name. That will change the way your links are displayed from the default mode, which is using numbers and sings to, using the titles of your pages. Also it will make your website look better and in the same time, your site will be more search engine friendly.

Another important move, is to turn certain words in your description text to hyperlinks. Also known as anchor text.

Go to Pages/All Pages and find the page Van’s Surfboards and click on Edit.

In the introductional text describing the businesses I included certain words which I want to link to certain pages in my website.

For example in the second sentence find and highlight the word “surfboards”. In the Toolbar above click on the icon Insert/edit link.

You will see a list with all of your pages. From that list select the page Surfboards and click on the

Add Link button, then click Update to save the changes.

When you refresh your website you will see that now the word “surfboards” links to the Surfboards page. By using this technic, you need to insert as many text links as possible within your site. By doing that, you will help your visitors navigate easier wile browsing your website. Also the clickable text will give a clue to the search engines about the content of your pages. With other words the ranking of your website in the search engines for your targeted key words will improve.

Now that you have your website optimized for the search engines you want to build some high quality backlinks.

Backlinks are basically links to your website found on other websites. High quality back links are the ones that are under authority websites. For example all the major social networking sites, well established forums and blogs are recognized by the search engines as authority sites. By simply registering accounts with all the major social networking sites, and inserting a link of your website under your profile page for every account, you will be creating high quality backlinks. Also every time you share a link to a new product or a service with your friends and followers, you will be creating additional back link to your site. In addition, every time someone shares your link with their friends, the amount of your backlinks will grow.

The process of building backlinks to your website could be time consuming, but in the long run, will definitely be beneficial for the ranking of your site, and the traffic increase.

Just remember not to spam people by constantly sharing or sending the same link, or pushing them to buy something they don't need. Try to share new quality content with your followers, so that way they will like and share your site or content.
