Ah, yes, the "Yoda-speak." Off-putting it was. Felt like Mr Poulin may have put his original native French manuscript through a software translator program. Perhaps should have used a proof-reader prior to publishing. Entertaining never-the-less it is. A sequel the ending leaves open I believe. Such interesting grammar! 5 stars Mr. Poulin.

I managed to make it 1/4 through this work before I gave up. Felt like I was reading something that was poorly translated to English. I couldn't believe *ANY* of the dialog; even the sleazy strip club owners were speaking strangely formally. Emphasis on strangely. OK, the author is French Canadian. I get it. But I expected better from someone who put his name on his work and shared it with the world. So much was simply unbelievable. The description of her getting her "driver's permit" for instance. We got paragraphs of the procedure with no mention of taking the test. Couldn't get one without passing the written test. Got my first California permit in the early '70s myself. And it was just a paper. It was not only un-laminated, it was a violation to laminate it yourself. I could go on and on. It's possible to walk into a dealership and drive off the lot within two hours with a financed, registered, and insured car. We're talking about Los Angeles for crissake! The Mecca of the car culture! If the author didn't know the details, he should have been more vague and concentrated on the sex.I don't care how much of a bottomless-pit insatiable nympho our heroine is (unrealistic in itself, but a bit of fantasy I'm willing to accept in porn), the story simply doesn't work. I'm frankly amazed that this tale rates a pure 5.0 rating. Half of the reviews before mine are less than absolutely raving and still it gets 5.0 stars? Unbelievable! This tale is not completely unreadable, but it's not good either. He should have written this in his native tongue and had it professionally translated. MAYBE that might have helped...

I also just finished the book. I enjoyed it and plan to read more by the author. The only thing was the fact that sentence structure and grammar. Seeing that he is French-Canadian I understand why that is. Still it gave the whole thing a 'translated' effect. Though I dislike the term, it was slightly 'off-putting' as a U.S. reader.

Quite a spicy novel indeed! The ones familiar with Mr.Poulins other books will find many parallel lines along all novels, this is not an exception. I don not find it a negative trait, quite contrary - it is the authors way of expressing his understanding of equality between men and woman. Novel is very well written in my opinion and something totally different from other Time Travel series written so far.Looking forward to more interesting read, keep up the great work Mr.Poulin!

Just finished this book. I could not put it down. The author says it is both erotica and fantasy. It would have been good without the sex. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars I would. If you are a D&D person you will love this.
