Part IX

Part IX

Life is an entity we have been graced with,

For free, though sometimes we don’t deserve it,

We have been given this life with a purpose,

A purpose directs us in ways we should go,

It gives us a sense of continuity,

Through hurdles, we stand strong,

Through pleasure, we remain still,

Purpose.

Purpose is the pillar that holds us,

When we are on the verge of failure,

Purpose is what keep us company,

When we are lost in a sea of rejections,

Purpose gives us direction in the dark,

Purpose strengthens us to find a way,

Through the valley.

Without purpose, life remains empty of glory.

Sam had a purpose.

Sam treaded his path carefully,

Growing in the knowledge of the books,

And the knowledge of the Book of Life,

Seeking wisdom and understanding,

In ways that, some were left amazed,

By how great he was advancing.

He chose to shun the pleasures of the campus,

He abstained from all that could,

In any way deviate his attention,

From what he had come to do.

As a fruitful tree to the farmer,

So, he became to his mother,

He made her proud after five years of study.

Those who had doubted him,

They no longer had words to break,

Silence and envy entangled them,

But still some wondered…

How?! How?!...could he…?

What they didn’t know,

Was that, God was always with him,

And as the Word says;

If God be with us, who can be against us?
