THE MOON

Child of the Sons of the Mighty

Pisces

“Deception”

 DESCRIPTION AND SYMBOLISM

In The Moon, a crayfish emerges from a pool of blue waters, a symbol of the great deep of the Cosmic Consciousness, - the watery psychic womb of Pisces from which all self consciousness emerges. A golden rain of light falls upon a path that is illuminated by a stern faced moon, symbolizing the fact that the way of evolution is a stern way  and  indeed, as  the  ancient  saying goes, the Moon is often a “harsh mistress” forcing us onto difficult paths so that we may grow and advance as spiritual beings. Beside the golden path stand a dog and a wolf, both of which are howling at the Moon. These two animals symbolize the poles of experience in the  natural  world: the  wolf  representing  the  wild and instinctual  aspect of existence and the root struggle to survive and reproduce; while the dog represents the more cultured aspect of experience which derives from the spiritual dimension of human consciousness.  The crayfish must pass between them on its long journey up the path towards the mountains in the distance and these two animals warn us against the dangers of self deception and the need to strike a balance between the world of nature and the world of culture. The Golden Road travels between two gray stone towers whose sides facing the road are illuminated by the light of the Moon. Into each tower is carved an observation port guarding the road that leads to a mountain range in the distance that symbolizes the higher planes of conscious self realization that are the goal of spiritual life.  The Moon evokes an atmosphere of evolution through the process of growth and transformation and one in which feminine intuition is more important than rationality.

ASTROLOGICAL ASSOCIATION

Sacred to the ancients as the symbol of the mystery of Nature and of the Divine Feminine, psychic and mysterious Pisces can represent our deepest fears as well as our loftiest aspirations. As a reflection of the unknown mystery within ourselves, the deep spiritual waters of Pisces bid us not to fear the darkness but to look at it carefully so we may discover the compassionate light of the Divine Feminine inherent within it that will lead us to the fullest realization of our emotional, spiritual and imaginative nature.

ORACLES

When Appearing Upright in a Reading

Deception, unforeseen perils and unrecognized enemies lurk upon your present path. Dishonesty and trickery surround you and you should beware of and guard against the potential treachery of false friends. Seek insight from your dreams and direct intuition to help guide you out of the dim landscape where you now find yourself. Make no important decisions at this time.

When Appearing Reversed in a Reading

You persevere in self-delusion. Your perception of the situation is based on the thinnest of illusions. You have lost all ability to differentiate between truth and falsehood. Things are not as they seem. Your self deceptions are clouding your reason so you are advised not to take any unnecessary risks at this time.

THE TREE OF LIFE

“The Path of the Corporeal Intelligence”

The individual spirit monad with the Divine Light radiating in its core descends onto The Path of the Corporeal Intelligence and begins its descent towards physical birth and onto the road of evolutionary advancement that will lead it back to the Divine Source at the end of its journey.
