THE TEN OF WANDS

img32.jpg

“The Lord of Oppression”

Saturn in Sagittarius

DESCRIPTION AND SYMBOLISM

A solitary and heavily burdened individual carries a brace of ten flowering wands and makes toward a town in the distance. His burden appears to be too heavy for him to handle comfortably, as he is bent over by its weight. His head is buried in the middle of the bundle of wands and this obscures his forward vision giving him the appearance of walking almost blindly as he struggles towards the dwellings ahead.

ASTROLOGICAL ASSOCIATION

The heavy and oppressive energy of Saturn weighs down the fiery expansive  will of Sagittarius  causing it to implode upon itself and  become fixated by its own creations which have taken on a life of their own and turned their once master into an unwitting slave. The will to achieve has overreached itself creating a psychological tyranny whose grip will grow only tighter unless it can unburden itself and reclaim its lost freedom.

ORACLES

When Appearing Upright in a Reading

Your heart is imprisoned by pain and you have become oppressed by your own success. Your overmastering will has turned against you and has become your enslaver. Your achievements have grown beyond your capacity to control and have begun to control you. Too many responsibilities and too much hard work has created a difficult situation that is weighing you down and limiting your perspective.

When Appearing Reversed in a Reading

Reversed, this is a card of deceit, lies, difficulties and falsehoods. Your strength and energy are being applied to selfish ends. You are unhappy and delight in spreading your own misery around and in ruining the happiness of others.

THE TREE OF LIFE

“The Kingdom “

The ever-forward movement of the ever-evolving Life Power is the truest expression of the Divine Intention as manifested in Nature. When this energy is carried to an extreme and not treated with the reverence it deserves it takes on a life of its own and multiplies out of control. It then becomes a destructive force that consumes the mind just like a jungle will consume a town if its growth is not kept in check.
