DAPO

Which woman? You mean Olivier?

FEMI

I don’t know her as Olivier. I know her as Amara.

DAPO

How do you know her?

FEMI

That was the question I asked you.

DAPO

She’s my girlfriend. I should be the one asking that question.

INT. DAPO’S ROOM, FEMI’S PARENT’S MANSION - SAME TIME

Amara is fully dressed, packing up in a rush. A open travel box is mounted on the bed, as Amara hurriedly throws in dresses she unhooks from cloth hangers in a wardrobe. Chioma walks into the room through the open door.

CHIOMA

Where do you think you’re going to?

Chioma walks further into the room, slaps the box closed, and yells:

CHIOMA (CONT’D)

You think you and Uche can kill

Emeka and walk away freely?

CHIOMA (CONT’D)

Never!

Amara vibrates in fear. She speaks in a shaky voice:

AMARA

I didn’t kill Emeka. Uche did. I really loved Emeka.

CHIOMA

How can you love someone and cover up his murder?

Amara’s voice gets steady and mean.

AMARA

He was about to leave me for you even when I told him I was pregnant. What do they even see in you, because I see nothing?
