BUS CONDUCTOR #1 (points at Tega with his forefinger)

You no dey see say I carry staff?

PARK BOY (aggressively)

How that one take concern me? Fun mi owo mi!

Tega stomps sand from his boot before swaggering further away from the park, as civilians make way for him.

BACK TO:

INT. ROOM 7, WING C, ST. NICHOLAS HOSPITAL - CONTINUOUS

Femi looks disappointed.

FEMI

We could talk some other time when you’re ready.

He forces a trace of smile upon his lips.

FEMI (CONT’D)

Take some rest now.

Femi turns around and heads for the exit.

CHIOMA (O.S.)

I never loved him.

Femi turns around as he hears her mutter those four words. ALMOST at the open door, he walks back into the room until he is standing FEW inches away from the bed.

FEMI (flashing a smile)

Hold on, I need to record your statement for future references. Is that okay?

Chioma nods in AFFIRMATION.

Femi paces to the black leather armchair at the other side of the bed and takes a seat. He pulls out a Tape Recorder from his left trouser pocket. SIMULTANEOUSLY, he pushes down the record button and gets seated. He lifts the Recorder up, close to his lips.

FEMI (CONT’D) (speaks into the Recorder)

This is Sergeant Kolawole, NP Three Seven Six Eight.
