FEMI (CONT’D)

I’m at Saint Nicholas Hospital where Chioma Okafor, a victim from last night’s motor accident along Lekki-Epe Expressway is presently receiving treatment. This is her account of the accident.

(looks on to Chioma)

The next voice you’ll hear is hers.

Femi pulls the Recorder away from his lips, and hands it over to Chioma. Chioma sits up, receives the Recorder with her left hand, and pulls it close to her lips.

CHIOMA

(speaks into the Recorder) Uche was driving...

DISSOLVE TO:

EXT. LEKKI-EPE EXPRESSWAY - NIGHT - FLASHBACK

STEADILY following Uche’s car from behind -- a neat grey Toyota Venza SUV with a LUSTRE bodywork that reflects the DIM yellow street lights being poured upon it. The clean, solid multi-lane carriageway is populated with traffic lights, road signs, and a scanty number of private vehicles -- no cycle, no commercial vehicle, and no pedestrian walking along the sidelines.

We see the cozy interior of Uche’s car. Uche is driving. Chioma is silent.

Chioma is dressed in a long red dinner gown, and an artificial red lips to match. Her artificial long and GLOSSY deep-black hair covers her left eye and temple in a manner that leaves only her right eye to spell out all the beauty that rains down upon her face.

UCHE, mid-30s, is dressed in a stylish white three-piece suit, and a GOLD Rolex wrist-watch that suggests he is a man of taste, class and sophistication.

The facial expression of the Couple suggest that they have a lot lingering on their minds, and equally a lot left unsaid. Uche’s eyes are locked on the road ahead.

UCHE

It is so weird.

Chioma snaps out of her reverie.

CHIOMA

What is?
