FEMI

I took it a long time ago. Nobody will be expecting me at the station today.

CHIOMA

(with an expression so earnest and gentle)

That’s if everybody doesn’t have a porous memory like yours.

Femi blushes as though what she had really said was, “You remind me of a beautiful sunset in Igboland.” All Femi could muster as a reply to her comment is a resounding smile.

FEMI

I think I should change into something civilian.

CHIOMA

No. Girls dig men on uniform.

Chioma laughs as she walks out of the bedroom, leaving Femi in confusion, pondering on what she’s actually suggesting.

DISSOLVE TO:

EXT. FEMI’S PARENT’S MANSION - MOMENTS LATER

We arrive at Femi’s parent’s mansion; a space-consuming two-storey building, beautifully painted in white, within a spacious compound littered with pocket-drilling vehicles, in a SERENE and ELITE environment.

Femi and Chioma are standing before the gate, as an unlocking sound is distinctly heard. Femi is in civilian clothes. The gate swings open quickly after the sound stops, revealing a SCRUFFY security personnel, a middle-aged man dressed in UNCLEAN uniform. The man seems delighted to see Femi, especially with a beautiful lady accessory.

SECURITY MAN (salutes Femi in delight)

Shun sir! (eases up)

E don tey wey man never see this face. Welcome sir.
