Chapter 10

Minutes later and before Raquel realized it they were pulling into the car park of Koal Keel restaurant. Raquel sat in silence as Jason opened the door for her. As they walked towards the small diner he took her hand in his. She felt just a small twinge of sadness because she knew that the night would soon come to an end. Once inside Jason picked out a cozy table in the corner of the room and motioned for the waiter to come take their order. It was quite full inside with teens and other couples who had probably just left parties in search for a bite to eat.

They ate their food and laughed and talked and Raquel really did have to admit that Jason was right. They were in love. The burger was delicious and so was the cheese cake that he ordered for desert. She never made a habit of eating too much but all that sun and adventure had made her feel quite ravenous.

Raquel wondered what she’d done to deserve such good luck. Was it fate that had not intervened? Jason had come along when he did. She was more than certain that she would have been home at that very minute doing something else which may have been more boring.

Raquel suddenly felt very happy because she had embraced the idea that they were totally in love. She was also pleased that he had chosen her to spend this very important time with or at least the significant part of it.
