Facebook Ads Naming Convention

As a Level 1 specialist you will likely be spending the majority of your time creating ads and working in Business Manager.

While working in Business Manager make sure you follow the official CoachYu naming conventions (You will definitely want to bookmark these videos so you can refer back while you are making your audiences.)

(39) CoachYu Naming Convention for Audiences and Ads

Naming System: Key Points

You want the names to be as clear as possible so when someone else looks at the audience they will be able to tell exactly what the audience consist of

(ex. custom_audience_website_visit_128days)

– As you can tell the audience type is custom and is for the people who visit their website in the last 128 days

BE SPECIFIC
Always start with audience

3 types of audiences: custom, saved, and lookalike

Always use underscores to separate words so that it is easier to read (ex. custom_FBpage_engagement_60_days)

Lookalike audiences are the only audience that DOES NOT include the underscores

-Start with the audience
-Add the location base and percentage (1-2% or 3-5%)
-Then based off what it is
(ex. Lookalike AU 1% to 2%-strike force email list)

For Ads and Campaigns use the following numbers for achievement type:

1. Audience base = Videos views (ex. 1_video_views_companyname)

2. Engagement base = Engagement via Fb (ex. 2_Fb_engagment)

3. Conversion base = Link clicks that lead to conversion (ex. 3_video_link_click_ads)

Make sure to have the Ad name consist of your actual ad
