towards the point she would turn into the road that lead to the turn that eventually lead her to her apartment, she ran and she ran and she ran. She never thought of stopping even when a dog near the docks was barking rampantly. She eventually made the first turn and then stopped suddenly.

 

There was a car parked in the street with its fog lights still on. She was so sure she was about to get away scotch free but there it was and chances are the people in the car had already seen her. They had probably seen the whole thing. For a second she was completely stuck for choices, she knew better than to turn and run because that would cause even more suspicion. All she could do was continue walking towards the car slowly. She wanted to cross the road and walk on the sidewalk closest to the left turn that was just metres after the point the car was parked but even that would have attracted too much unwanted attention, so
