- 10. BEAUTIFUL SKIN -

Chamomile isn’t only used for tea. There are lots of products that use the extract of the chamomile flower in topical skincare treatments.

Where consuming chamomile in tea form helps to promote healthy skin from the inside out the soothing properties of the flower can still be effective when applied to the skin rather than digested; helping from the outside in.

There are plenty of studies showing that the anti-inflammatory properties of the plant help reduce redness and puffiness. The antibacterial properties can prevent a build-up of bacteria, which causes acne.

Furthermore, the antioxidants which keep cells healthy and free of cancer also help prevent cell degeneration. This means firmer, brighter skin, fewer wrinkles and lines, and a glowing complexion.

Additional uses of chamomile are in topical lotions, which, when applied to  the skin, reduce inflammation and redness and help keep skin smooth and moisturised.

Due to chamomile being natural, non-synthesised, the plant and the extract and compounds are excellent for people with sensitive skin and allergies.
