Chapter 26

Carter pulled the RV into the driveway of Sabrina’s house.

Carter, Sabrina the woman and the 101 Dalmatian puppies got out of the RV and headed to the door of the house.

Sabrina the woman grabbed another house key hidden inside another fake dog poop by the front bushes.  She unlocked the door and they all went inside her home.

“Alvin!” Carter called out the second they entered the front foyer.

The house was quiet for a few seconds.  “I’m in the kitchen,” Alvin yelled out.

Carter’s detective instincts kicked in and he whispered in Sabrina the woman’s ear.  She nodded in agreement then got on her hands and knees.

The 101 Dalmatians all watched while the rainbow colored flash consumed Sabrina’s entire body and she reappeared as the Sheep dog.

“I need to learn how to do that,” one Dalmatian puppy said.

The remaining Dalmatian puppies nodded in agreement as they all wanted to turn into a human.

Carter cautiously walked down the hallway to the kitchen.

Once he got in the kitchen, Carter saw Alvin at the table drinking a cup of tea.  He looked around and the house appeared quiet so he felt it was safe.  “Alvin, I got the evidence,” Carter said while he walked over to the butler.

“You were never good at obeying orders,” Chief Hightower said when he walked into the kitchen with his 38 Special aimed at Carter.

Carter cringed at the sound of that irritating voice and turned around. “Me follow orders.  No way!  I need to work on having a government free of corruption!” Carter snapped back at his little boss.

“In your dreams!” Chief Hightower replied while he inched closer to Carter.

“Well, dreams can come true,” Carter replied then kicked the 38 Special out of Chief Hightower’s hand.

The 38 Special flung across the kitchen and smacked into the cabinets.

“Let me try this again Remake!” Scarface’s voice was heard from behind Carter.

Chief Hightower smiled at the sound of Scarface’s voice while he inched into the kitchen with his Glock aimed at Carter.

“It's over Carter.  You're under arrest for possession of stolen government secrets,” Chief Hightower said while he removed his handcuffs off his belt.

“It's over Carter.  You're under arrest for possession of stolen government secrets!” Scarface said while he inched closer to Carter.

Chief Hightower looked a little upset at Scarface. “I already said that!”

“But I said it better!” Scarface replied with a smile over the potential for additional credit for another kill.

Chief Hightower and Scarface stuck their tongues out at each other acting like children.

“Ah, excuse me.  Do you want this memory stick or what?” Carter said while he reached in his left field jacket and removed the stick.

Chief Hightower and Scarface looked over at Carter.

“Oh yeah, the memory stick,” Chief Hightower said.

Carter started to hand the memory stick down to Chief Hightower's waiting hand, but then he flung the memory stick into the dining room next to the kitchen.

Chief Hightower and Scarface ran into the dining room.

Carter watched the two goons chase after the memory stick with a smirk.

Inside the dining room, Chief Hightower and Scarface frantically looked around the floor on their hand and knees for that memory stick.

“I got it,” Scarface said when he saw the memory stick on the floor by one of the legs of the dining room table.

Scarface scampered over and snatched the memory stick off the floor.  He kissed it and shoved it in one of his suit pockets.

“Gurrrrrr!” cried out a bunch of the Dalmatian puppies.

Chief Hightower and Scarface’s eyes widened with shock when they saw fifty Dalmatian puppies ten feet away and were growling and snapping.  “Oh, oh,” he said then swallowed hard while he stared at the danger.

The fifty Dalmatian puppies all inched closer to Chief Hightower and Scarface while they growled and snapped.

Scarface and Chief Hightower two guys inched backwards afraid of the pups.

Chief Hightower and Scarface jumped up on their feet and ran out of the dining room.

They ran down the hallway but were stopped then they saw the other fifty-one Dalmatian puppies growling and snapping.

They turned around started to run back, but the other fifty Dalmatian puppies from the dining room were at the other end of the hallway growling and snapping.

Chief Hightower and Scarface were trapped in the hallway.

Sabrina the dog appeared behind the fifty-one Dalmatian puppies.  “There’s nothing like help from my little friends,” she told Chief Hightower and Scarface.

“Ahhhh!” Scarface screamed like a little girl.

Chief Hightower shook in fear at the sight of all the threatening dogs.

Carter appeared in the archway that led from the dining room with Alvin by his side.  Carter pulled out another memory stick from his right field jacket pocket.

“Here’s the real evidence,” he told Chief Hightower and Scarface.

The rainbow colored flash consumed Sabrina the dog’s body and Sabrina the woman reappeared.

Alvin, Chief Hightower and Scarface stood slack jawed while they stared in disbelief with the sight they just witnessed.

Chief Hightower’s eyes crossed and he passed out and dropped to the floor.

Scarface’s eyes crossed and he passed out and dropped to the floor landing on top of Chief Hightower.

Alvin’s eyes crossed and he passed out and dropped to the floor.

“Let’s get these two secured and high tail it out of here,” Carter said.

“You got it,” Sabrina the woman replied.

Carter grabbed Scarface’s shoes and dragged him down the hallway.

Sabrina the woman grabbed Chief Hightower’s shoes and dragged him down the hallway.

Fifteen minutes later, Carter woke up Alvin and explained how Sabrina the woman could turn into a dog.

After Alvin accepted Sabrina’s condition, he left with Carter, Sabrina the woman and the 101 Dalmatian puppies.

They all ran to the RV parked in the driveway.

Across the street from Sabrina’s house, a black Mercedes Benz was parked.

Inside the Mercedes Benz were Senators Cheatham, Dewey, and Howe.  The three watched while Carter, Alvin, Sabrina the woman, and the 101 Dalmatians rushed inside the RV.

“Crap!  Scarface and Chief Hightower failed again,” Senator Cheatham yelled out while he banged on his steering wheel.

The three Senators watched while the RV backed down Sabrina’s driveway and then drove off down the street.

“Let’s go,” Senator Cheatham told his buddies while he opened up his door and got out of the Mercedes.

Senators Dewey and Howe got out of the Mercedes.

The three Senators ran across the street and headed to Sabrina’s house.

Twelve minutes later, Carter drove the RV down a residential street in Remakewood.

He stopped at a white house with yellow shutters and a white picket fence.

In the front yard of that house, a forty year old woman was pruning some rose bushes along the white picket fence.  The woman looked depressed while something troubled her.

She heard the brakes of the RV and looked over at the street.

The door to the RV opened up.

The 101 Dalmatians ran out of the RV.

The woman’s eyes widened in joy at the sight of the 101 Dalmatian puppies.  “My babies!” the woman yelled out in joy and ran to the gate in her picket fence.

She opened up the gate and 101 Dalmatians ran to with their tails wagging.  She bent down and was bombarded by hundreds of licking puppies to happy to see their master again.

Carter and Sabrina to woman stood outside the RV happy with reuniting the woman with her puppies.

“Let’s finish our mission,” Carter told Sabrina the woman.

She nodded in agreement and they went back inside the RV.

Inside the RV, Carter drove the RV down the street.

“Who can we trust with this evidence?” Carter asked Alvin.

“Bob Biff is a news reporter with the Channel two hundred news station.  He was my contact for giving this evidence.  You can trust him,” Alvin replied.

“Okay, then let’s head to the Channel two hundred news station and see Bob Biff,” Carter replied while he turned the RV down another street.

Carter drove the RV down that street and it started to sputter.

“Oh, oh,” Carter said while the RV engine sputtered some more.

The RVs engine shut off and it coasted to a stop.

Carter looked at the fuel gauge and saw it was on empty.

“The RV is out of gas,” he told everybody.

“Well, I guess we’ll have to walk over to see Bob Biff,” Sabrina the woman replied.

They all got up and went out of the RV.
