Chapter 28

It was the next day and the news of the government corruption evidence hit all the news stations across America.

Back in Sabrina the woman’s house, she and Carter cuddled on the couch in her den while they drank coffee and watched the news on the TV.

“Hello, I’m Trent Travis and here’s the news.  Detective Carter Remake of Remakewood California provided evidence that exposed government corruption in our nations Capitol.  Detective Remake was always assigned the same old familiar criminal cases but decided to tackle something new and different.  So he chased down this evidence that showed Senators Dewey, Cheatham and Howe were the leaders in funneling billions of taxpayer dollars into the pockets of our all of our elected officials in Washington DC.  They established fake grants designed to create jobs for the unemployed.  The federal tax increases went straight into the Senators and Congressmen’s bank accounts.  The evidence also showed Senators Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe were penniless when they were first elected and now they each have over one hundred and fifty million dollars in their bank accounts.  And the evidence goes on and on.  But America can thank Detective Remake for taking the chance with chasing after a new and fresh criminal case,” Trent Travis told the TV audience.

Sabrina the woman gave Carter a kiss on his cheek.  “You saved America,” she said while she snuggled closer to him.

“I couldn’t have done it without you,” Carter replied then he looked a little nervous and opened his mouth to say something but stopped.  Then he decided to go for the gold.  “Listen Sabrina, I was thinking that, I mean, if you’re willing, I mean, I was thinking,” Carter stuttered as he was extremely nervous.

“Marry you?” Sabrina the woman cried out in joy.

Carter was a little shocked by her question.  “Well, I was actually wondering if we could play ball in the backyard, but marriage would be nice,” Carter replied.

“I’m getting married!” Sabrina the woman cried out while she jumped off the couch and did a little victory dance around the room wagging her butt.

Meanwhile back in his mansion, Herman Remake was now eighty-seven years old and sat in his lazy boy chair while he watched Trent Travis presented the corruption news from his TV.

“Well I’ll be.  Maybe there could be rewards for doing something new and different,” Herman said and for once in his life was proud of his grandson.

Herman got up from his chair and walked over to his bookcase.  He opened up the bottom drawer and glanced at fifteen screenplays that were written many years ago by Carter Remake.  He picked up one screenplay titled “The Outlaw” and thumbed through the pages.

He picked up another screenplay titled “Only Time” and thumbed through the pages.

He picked up another screenplay titled “A Dog’s Life” and thumbed through the pages.

Herman walked away with the screenplays in his hand and headed over to his cell phone on the table by his lazy boy chair.  He picked up his cell phone and made a call.

“Carter, it’s me, grandpa,” Herman said with a gleam in his eyes while he glanced at the screenplays in his other hands.  “We need to talk,” Herman added with a smile.

Meanwhile, way over in Washington DC, the street near the Capitol building seemed to be at its peaceful normal pace.

Then hundreds of blue "Going To Prison” busses came into view while they headed toward the Capitol building with hundreds of white government Chevy Impalas filled with FBI agents.

An hour later, all the Congressman and Senators in Washington DC were arrested and sat on the blue prison busses while they were being driven to an interim prison.  They were all furious with Senator Cheatham for keeping all this evidence on the governments dirty deeds.

Meanwhile over in Remakewood, Senators Cheatham, Dewey, and Howe sat in jail cells in the Remakewood Precinct along with Scarface, and Chief Hightower.

Back at Sabrina’s house, Carter and Sabrina the woman snuggled on the couch in her den.

“If you’re still up for it, a round of playing catch sounds nice right now,” Sabrina the woman told Carter.

“Well let’s go,” Carter said then grabbed her hand and pulled her off the couch.

They walked hand in hand to the sliding glass door and went to the backyard.

Alvin walked out of the kitchen and wore an apron.

He walked over to the sliding glass door and saw Carter and Sabrina the woman playing out in the backyard.

He saw Sabrina the woman get on her hands and knees.  He watched while the rainbow flash consumes her entire body and she turned back into Sabrina the dog.  He opened up the sliding glass door.  “Dinner will be ready in thirty minutes.  Don’t get too dirty playing,” Alvin yelled outside while Carter threw a Frisbee and Sabrina the dog chased after it.

Alvin closed the sliding glass door and walked out of the den and headed back to the kitchen.

An hour later, Alvin, Carter and Sabrina the woman sat in the den and ate their pot roast dinner.

On the TV, reporter Harry Talltale stood in front of Precinct 13 in Remakewood.

“Bob, I’m here at Precinct thirteen in Remakewood where twelve angry men are armed with baseball bats.  They’re assaulting precinct thirteen in response to the government corruption evidence. They apparently want to open up a can of whoop ass on the corrupt police chief and Senators held in the precinct's jail,” he told the TV audience where behind him, the 12 angry men were visible beating the front doors of Precinct 13 with baseball bats.  Reporter Harry Talltale turned around and watched while the doors of the Precinct crashed down and the 12 angry men ran inside the building yelling.

Inside Precinct 13, Chief Hightower, Scarface, and Senators Cheatham, Dewey, and Howe sat in fear in their holding cell when they heard the yells of the 12 angry men while they ran through the building.

Two days passed and the front entrance of Precinct 13 was replaced with plywood doors.

Carter, Sabrina the woman, Alvin and Herman Remake stood next to Remakewood Mayor Donnie Deeds while he addressed hundreds of residents of Remakewood and news reporters.

“As Mayor of Remakewood, I hereby make Carter Remake Chief of Police!” Mayor Donnie Deeds told the audience.

The crowd clapped and cheered over the news.

“We love Remake!  We love Remake!” the crowd chanted.

Sabrina the Woman gave Carter a kiss on his cheek while Herman Remake patted his grandson on his shoulder.
