JEREMY
Do you need more morphine, Levon?
LEVON
Nah.
JEREMY
How about a cup of tea?
LEVON
Alright.
JEREMY
You know coyotes are dangerous. They attack pet dogs frequently.
Levon hugs his mushroomfilled backpack tightly. Jeremy unplugs an electric kettle. He wipes a couple of cups clean with his blanket.
LEVON
Who am I, Jeremy?
JEREMY
A great friend. An ally. You’re holding that bag like a life preserver, Levon. Afraid it'll float away?
LEVON
It’s all I have left of my old life. I’m scared to let it go. I wish I were brave enough to disappear.
Jeremy pours some hot tea into two cups. He sprinkles some dried mushrooms into each.
