Love Seeks Not Its Own

Charity Seeketh Not Her Own.  (I Corinthians 13: 5)

Love seeks not its own

Love wants no possession

Love leaves mine and yours alone

Love serves as no obsession

Love is not justice

Love makes not distinctions

Love does not division practice

Love's not an institution

Justice has a purpose

To maintain separations

To possession it does service

And punishes deviations

But in a terrible misfortune

And all this is full disturbed

It cannot maintain distinction

And out of balance is unnerved

What a terrifying spectacle!

This surfeit of confusion

In this way love's remarkable

And superbly life-infusing

Love is a revolution

Profound and most blessed

Life-giving in it's profusion

Mine and yours has simply ended

In the intensity of love's sacredness

Mine and yours becomes dissolved

In some supreme soulfullness

Alienation is resolved
