Secrets

It's no secret that I love you,

No secret that you don't love me,

The secrets I didn't know are the secrets that won't set me free.

No way to like myself when good enough is all I want to be,

All I can see,

Are the flaws that make guilty my plea.

It was my fault you left,

I heard way too much,

 If only I was deaf,

If only I was in control,

But bodily functions and emotions work on their own.

Sadness feels like its set in stone.

I am subject to my feelings that sit on the throne,

Rule my body,

Tell me what to do and make me start rotting.

Do you know what it's like to feel sad all the time?

Only way out is to write lines of these rhymes?

Swinging out of luck can't hold onto these vines.

These secrets you had from the start,

Now they just tear me apart,

No love because there is no more heart.

Torturous thoughts provoke torturous wishes,

Aiming for death but every shot misses.

Life is needed, but no life is found,

Left on the gravel,

Heartbreak makes no sound,

Just leaves you gasping for air lying on the ground.
