GENTLY

Gently, as the sun creeps up
I stir the sheets and slip from bed,
And stand in silence, gazing down
At your pillowed, gold head.

Sleep on, my lovely angel.
No Morning Glory ever bloomed as sweet As that soft rosebud of a smile
Upon my Goldilocks, asleep.
