THROUGH A BROKEN HEART

Despite the longing of your kiss

And the comfort of your embrace

Your love was fast and free.

My soul meant nothing to you.

Our kiss, just a faded memory.

The agony you put me through,

I tried to occupy my mind.

Somehow, I suppressed my heart.

Wrecked and ravaged,

There were many sleepless nights.

Despite the pain that wouldn’t cease

I gave love another try.

I tried to replicate it, duplicate it,

I tried to render it dead.

I suppose I tried much too soon

Your heart still meant something more.

Despite the sorrow that I consumed,

I gave love another try-

A thousand more times you would crush my heart

Somehow, it’s still battered and bruised.
