WASHED ASHORE

The wind blows across this desert land

I’m a haphazard vagrant,

Gypsy-soul searching vagabond

Held hostage by

Your merciless musings.

If I was a ship,

I could leave this shore.

I could navigate my heart

To an exotic place-

Somewhere I could weep silently

And my tears would be embraced.

If I could swim in an infinite sea

I’d swim forever, tirelessly.

If it meant my heart could

Be healed and I could love again.
