A quarter past my grave

These leaves...

Where have they gone?

I watched a movie tonight.

I’m still watching

shadows

playing

hide and seek

among the dunes.

This desert,

this ocean,

this ME fighting the previous

has conquered.

Where have you ever seen

peace?

Peace has never seen you ever.

There’s a grenade carried by the wind,

and it hisses hellishly.

Where have you ever seen war?

...

I bow my future

before the atrocities of the past.

Salute before stabbing misfortune

in the heart.
