Shadow keepers
Patches of darkness,
trapped behind prison bars,
screamed,
and screamed,
and screamed,
and cried mud,
all over the white ground,
within man.
There shone a soft light before them.
They stretched, and stretched,
and shouted,
speechlessly.
Oh, shadows,
Where has your darkness gone?
How to survive in the light,
when your hearts are shapeless?
How do we write word by word on
blank shreds of paper?
The light has turned dark,
and the darkness screams,
‘Behold yourselves in the flesh!’
We are empty.
