Note

If you are not sure whether the injury is a fracture, dislocation, sprain or strain. Always Treat as a Fracture

img19.png Loss of power in limb

img19.png Muscular tenderness

Treatment

img19.png DRSABCD

img19.png R.I.C.E therapy (rest, ice, compression, elevation)

img19.png Rest the injury.

img19.png Ice. Wrap ice (or an ice pack) in a light cloth and apply it to the injured area for 20 minutes every 2 hours for 24 hours. Then for 15 minutes every 4 hours for 24 hours

img19.png Compression. Wrap a broad elastic bandage around the injury

img19.png Elevate the injury when possible

img19.png If the injury worsens or is slow to improve see a Doctor
