CHAPTER 15

THE LAST GREAT HARVEST

Mat 13:37  He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

Mat 13:38  The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

Mat 13:39  The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

Mat 13:40  As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

Mat 13:41  The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

Mat 13:42  And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Mat 13:43  Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Jesus taught that the wheat and the tares would be harvested TOGETHER!

Mat 13:28  He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

Mat 13:29  But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

Mat 13:30  Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Jesus definitely DID NOT teach the wheat would be gathered first! Although this is what pretribulation rapture believers are teaching to the Church. Jesus taught that the TARES would be harvested FIRST.

Mal 4:1  For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Mal 4:2  But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

Mal 4:3  And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

There is going to be a last great harvest at the end of the age. There is going to be a harvest of the wicked FIRST!

Mat 7:16  Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Mat 7:17  Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

Mat 7:18  A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Mat 7:19  Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Mat 7:20  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

All through the Books of the Bible the prophets talk about a last great harvest of men. At the end of this age, the fruit of the wicked and the fruit of the righteous will begin to accelerate into ripeness together. There will be a clear and definite distinction between the two types of people. You will either be obviously righteous or obviously wicked. The obviously wicked will take the mark of the beast and will persecute and kill the obviously righteous (the true Church). There will be NO gray area, everyone will have to make a choice.

Mat 9:37  Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

Mat 9:38  Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

As I mentioned before, I believe the story of Joseph, specifically the seven (7) good years of plenty and then the seven (7) years of famine are an allegory about the end of the Age. If you remember Pharaoh’s dream, seven fat cattle were swallowed up by seven thin cattle; also seven good ears of corn were swallowed by seven withered ears of corn and this was Joseph’s interpretation:

Gen 41:29  Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:

Gen 41:30  And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;

Gen 41:31  And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.

Jesus specifically said there would come a time of darkness when no man could work.

Joh 9:4  I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

As I write this book, Christians all over the world are suffering great persecution and martyrdom. Persecution of the Church is scattered and random today but one day in the near future the persecution will be systematic and organized. ALL the governments, corporations, and organized religions of the world (the Babylonian system) will give all their authority and power to the son of perdition (the man of sin) specifically to kill every true Christian on earth, the revealed sons of God.

Amo 8:11  Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

Amo 8:12  And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

God showed us by the Prophet Amos that there would be a famine of the WORD in the last days. This “famine of the Word” is the whole thesis of this book. One day ALL Christians (the wise virgins in Jesus’ parable) will begin fleeing into the wilderness and evangelism will cease. Those who continue in the Babylonian system will suffer martyrdom. Eventually ALL unsaved people who desire salvation must follow the true, living saints into the wilderness, just like the people of Israel followed Moses, King David, and Jesus into the wilderness.

However, I believe that prior to these seven (7) “bad” years there will be seven (7) “good” years. These seven “good” years of plenty may also be times of increased war, famine, and persecution of Christians but I also believe many, many millions of people, probably even billions of people, will come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and the gospel WILL be preached throughout the whole earth!

Mat 10:23  But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

Jesus said that when you are persecuted in one city, flee to another. It appears from the Book of Acts, that the Apostles did exactly that. We see they would enter a city and preach the gospel and eventually persecution would become so harsh, they would have to flee. What will happen when every city in the world persecutes people simply for being Christians? Then ALL Christians will have to leave ALL the cities and go into the wilderness or suffer martyrdom.

I believe the day will come when EVERYONE ON EARTH will hear the true gospel and will either accept it or reject it, people who accept Jesus Christ will eventually have to make a choice: either flee into the wilderness or suffer certain death. It will be the same choice that Moses, Elijah, and King David all had to make.
