PRAYER STRUCTURE

One of the most important things that I learned while travelling this journey was to structure my prayers and make them my own. There is no set way to pray and there are no set words but it greatly benefits you if you speak clearly and in a structured manner. Imagine you are preparing a presentation for a meeting. You will have all of your topics in Bullet Points with a brief description following. That’s exactly how you need to structure your prayers.

MAKE IT YOUR OWN

I feel that it benefits you greatly if you are willing to take a prayer and edit the words so that they relate more to you and your relationship with God or to even take a prayer and see how you can completely rewrite it to make your own prayer. You must realise that God hears the same prayers from millions of people every day so if you create a different version of a prayer it will be noticed instantly. Imagine you walk into your workplace and you see the usual faces and they all say the same thing such as ‘’Hello, how are you?’’. You will find yourself walking along the line in a monotonous way. However, if one member of staff greets you with a big smile and says ‘’Good Morning to you, how are you on this sunny day?’’, you will notice them and hear what they say much more clearly than the others. You need to really make yourself stand out from the crowd so that you will be heard. Use any writing app or word processor on your computer to put your prayer together.
