Following your greeting, the next step is to offer praise to God. Offer praise before you request and receive your blessings. That might sound strange to you but consider all of the things that God has already given to you such as your life. Regardless of the situation that you currently find yourself in, you are still able to breath and continue living. You can find plenty of reasons to praise God in your daily life but so often, humans overlook those reasons and cast blame to God when things aren’t going their way. What you should do here is make a short list of things you are thankful for. Begin by saying ‘’I offer you praise my Lord, I am thankful for the following … and I am ever so grateful for everything you do for me. Thank you for the blessings that you have given me, even those that I do not see, and for the blessings that are yet to come. Following that offer a prayer of praise to God and finish this section by saying something along the lines of ‘’I thank you once again for everything that you have blessed me with, I am eternally grateful, more grateful than my words and actions could ever convey’’. Be genuine in your praise and adoration for everything that God has blessed you with. Really put your heart and soul into praising God and never give the impression that you are only giving praise to obtain what you want. You need to continue to praise God even when it seems that your prayers are going unanswered. That is the true test that God gives to us. He will answer the prayers without a doubt but he may first test your reaction to see what happens if he doesn’t answer them.
