The first and only time I visited New Orleans was an eye opener. This was some years after the flood, but whole neighborhoods were still empty; the houses were boarded up and vacant. It was fall and nothing was really going on. We visited a blues bar, I ate this really good red cabbage at a German restaurant, I did visit Bourbon St. and bought some antique jewelry.
I can't remember if it was on Bourbon or just a street nearby, but in our sight seeing, we happened to stroll past a store for foreign gods. The first thing I thought was, “Oh my God, I wish my mother was here to see this. She would have a lot to tell me.”
Well, I crossed the street. I didn't want anything to do with that, but I did gawk. To think that sitting smack dab in public is this type of merchandise for sale! Oh, ok. New Orleans does have a voo- doo reputation. But me, if I don’t see a thing going on – hey, whatever - out of sight, out of mind.
So who passes me on the street but this guy wearing some teeth as a necklace. Whose teeth? I don’t know. Some animal’s maybe? His eyes are blank and empty – nothing. A zombie. Well kiss my (expletive) and call me Suzy. I don’t get out much, but stands to reason that this dude probably thinks I look weird with all my hallelujah and cross tattoos (the ring finger of my left hand. Very proud).
Because when you love God it shows on your face. God-fearing people know what I'm talking about. Just like when one sees a person with a dark soul – they just look that way in their eyes. I’ll bet atheists think that we all look crazy.
Second time I’ve heard that the devil don’t like mirrors. Especially on his face. He really creeps me out.
God asked me what really was the problem. I said, he doesn’t have repentance.
The devil says he’s going to keep hurting God’s people and that he's got pictures.
God says he doesn’t deserve repentance.
