Chapter six
THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The success of every great book does not just depend on the authors of the book. Many persons had worked behind, out and in the scene to ensure the book becomes what it has to be. Authors generally acknowledge the persons who had worked with them during the making of the book. The book called you should take a clue from this. Everything you would achieve or have achieved did not just come by your own making or handiwork only. Many others had imputed their little resources to ensure you become the success you are and will be. A little acknowledgment will not hurt. They deserve it. Your parents, siblings, spouse, children, business associates, pastors, mentors, friends, acquaintances, workmen etc. all deserve an appreciation. Remember the journey to success is ongoing. There will be more pages to be written and you will still need all the persons all the way up there. Thank you, I appreciate, I am grateful are only little words we can say that will bring joy to all our benefactors. They love to associate with your book but they want to know you appreciate the little they are doing. Seeing you acknowledge their little effort makes them want to even do more.
There is one being worth acknowledging. There is a need to realize that without His breath of life, we are nothing. We are useless and worthless. We will not have all those benefactors we have enjoyed company without this special being. God the absolute creator of life made us in his image. Who else can give our first acknowledgment to? All God desires from you is just to acknowledge his place in your success. He wants you to remember he is the essence of your existence. If God stands for you, no one can stand against us. He has been doing all the standing to ensure you end up the champion he wants you to be. God has assured us that he is always there whenever we call. All we have to do is acknowledge his presence. We need to have a grateful heart towards God. You have to acknowledge his place in your life.
Acknowledging God and the people who have been around during your rise up is a symbol or sign of maturity. Nobody got to the top alone. Nobody achieved success by standing alone. They achieved success by working with others. Even if those they worked with are not as successful as they are, they still worked with them to obtain and enjoy the services of their expertise. As you rise towards greater readership, you will need the expertise of more people. Those you have worked with will share the testimony of your goodness and appreciation over what they had done with you. You will always need people around you and the people you will need may be easily sourced from those you have worked with before. The words seem little but they are very powerful words. These persons want to share in your success. They will feel satisfied knowing you succeeded with them. Give them that sense of satisfaction and pride. Let them know the indent made on you was worth it. Give them more than a reason to smile. Like the acknowledgment walks with every book, allow them to walk along with your success.
Success is worth celebrating when there are people around sharing it with you. Achievements are worth talking about when there are people around to talk about it. Championship would not be without a ship to carry the people along. You can’t help it if you must get up. They have to come along. If your book will be read then all these people must come along with your book. They must be part of it. They must be celebrated too. For every successful football team, there have been many persons, more than the number of players who have worked tirelessly. There are trainers, medics, staff, supporters etc. While the football team wins, the winners are the many supporters that worked behind to cheer the team. The football teams know this and they never want to lose the support of their supporters. Don’t choose to succeed alone. The book won’t be interesting without all the special touches, however, little they seem to be.
As you reach towards super readership. Find a place to write that acknowledgment. Don’t forget all those persons. Don’t let them regret ever working with you. Do not desire to take all the glory. You would need their help in the future and they would say you did not acknowledge their effort. Don’t keep the glory to yourself, find a way to pass the glory across to all the persons who worked with you and be sure they will join you in ensuring that your dream is accomplished.
