sun was shining brightly and I could feel the rays kissing my face. There was a slight breeze and I heard exotic birds sing in beautiful melodies. From far away I saw a large white shape approaching. As it came closer I saw that it was a beautiful white horse with a long silvery mane and a horn on its head that shone like pearls. A unicorn. I felt pure delight! As a little girl I had dreamed of riding a unicorn, obviously fantasy that would never actually happen but still, here it was, real or not, I was beyond excited! All the memories and expectations of a dream as a small girl came flooding back. The beautiful creature came galloping softly on the sand. It didn’t feel scary the closer it got, despite him being a large horse, I don’t know how I knew it was male, I just felt it.

He slowed down as he got closer and came to a stop just in front of me, close enough for me to pat him and stroke his mane. He was an utterly stunning creature. Just like I’d imagined.

“I see you’ve got company.” I knew that voice. I turned my head and saw Peter walking up to me and by his side was another unicorn, even larger than the one that had run up to me. This one was the same colouring but slightly darker and had a more mature look. The two horses came together and greeted each other by stroking their heads gently together. It seemed they knew each other. The bigger one seemed to be male as well. Maybe they were father and son, I thought. I looked over at Peter and our eyes met. With a sudden burst of energy I ran towards him, he did the same and then we were embracing each other like we hadn’t seen each other for years. Oh the smell of his hair stroking my face, and the feel of his body against mine. I nuzzled into his neck for a few seconds before letting go.
