gallery to eat. I felt like being by myself. Christine had gone home to drop Adele off and was having her lunch there. I sat picking at my sandwich whilst googling artwork, which is what I did sometimes at work. I was thinking about the statue Peter had mentioned in the dream. I was thinking maybe I’d seen it somewhere, since he had described it and it was all in my head. Surely I must have, unless it really was made up. I googled ’yoga statue woman’ but it didn’t seem to look like what he had described. I tried ’statue peace’, but that just showed mostly male statues, which I thought was odd, seeing as it is almost always men who start wars. I tried a few different search words before typing ’statue female peace light’. One of the pictures stood out. The statue was grey and the light inside shown through the cracks in a beautiful way. It was called ’Expansion’ by Paige Bradley. I couldn’t be entirely sure it was the same sculpture he had talked about but it sure fit the description. I couldn’t remember ever having seen it. It was based in Brooklyn- New York. I loved it though, I found myself staring at it for a long time. Like the hard shell of the woman was hard because the world is tough, but the soul shone through and made cracks because we’re all beings of light and within all of us is peace. Or at least that was wishful thinking on my part and it was the feeling I got from it. If I ever travelled to New York I would have to go see it. So maybe that was part of his accent, maybe he’d lived in America?

 

I got home at about five thirty. Lisa wasn’t home yet. She’d texted me that she was going out for a couple of drinks with a friend. I threw my handbag on my bed and changed clothes to a pair of jeans and a white tank top,
