“Now Alex, that is none of your business, get back to work and concentrate on our exhibition, OK. Lots to do!”

She walked quickly into her office and shut the door behind her. I thought I saw a little smile that she was desperately trying to hide. Huh, Christine in love, who would’ve guessed?

 

The bus journey home on Fridays were always the best. People looked generally happier and although I loved my job, it was nice to know I had a couple of days off to do other stuff.

I was back home in my bedroom trying to figure out what I was going to wear for the evening. I was staring in my closet and getting that nagging feeling that every woman got from time to time…I had nothing to wear, which of course I did, but I couldn’t decide on anything, so I decided to get an expert in on the matter.

“Lisa!” I shouted with a fake cry to the tone. I heard her running through the hall and appeared in my doorway. She was wearing a bright pink nightgown and her hair was wet, just having got out of the shower.

“What’s up hun?” she asked with concern.

“I don’t know what to wear,” I said, like it was the end of the world. “Will you help me?”

She walked across the room to my dark wooden closet. “Of course! You need to look great! You’re seeing

Dave tonight, we gotta make you look a million bucks babe!” she said slightly jokingly but looking very concentrated as she went through my closet.

She dug out a little black dress that was fairly high at the neckline but went low at the back. It was a tight fitting dress and pretty short.
