Chapter 17

The Light

I felt wind on my face and even before I opened my eyes I knew I was flying, my hand in Peters hand. Looking below I saw vast areas of green fields with lakes of various sizes. The sea was not far off and we were headed there. I looked over at Peter and caught him looking at me. A warm smile shining up his face. We didn’t say anything. It’s like we just knew we were in a world of our own and that we could go wherever the wind took us.

We looked out to the sea in the distance and as we got there we just continue flying over it. The surface calm and twinkling from the sun’s reflexion. I wondered what was up ahead. The boats were there as usual but with different people in them. All looking happy and at ease. I was wearing a short dress that seemed to reflect everything around it and glistening where the light hit it. It almost felt like liquid, the sensation of it was comforting, like I was part of everything around me.
