There was a strong bright light on the horizon and it felt warm and welcoming.

“You wanna see what’s over there?” Peter asked. He didn’t need to be loud, he spoke gently, the wind touching us at that speed not making a sound as it normally would have.

“Yeah, I do. Let’s check it out.” I was completely drawn to it, the closer we got the more I just wanted to melt into it.

We started to lose speed, not meaning to.

“Why are we slowing down?” I asked, thinking that maybe it had been Peter slowing down.

“I don’t know? I feel like I’m being pushed away,” he said.

We tried going faster but the closer we got, the slower we flew and as we saw the light up close we came to a halt, floating in the air. I tried moving forward but some kind of forcefield was holding me back.

The light was just like the lights I had seen in the elf forest and across that lake. It looked like all the stars of the universe filled with nothing but love. I wanted nothing more than to enter into it with Peter at my side.

“I wonder why we can’t go any further?” I said frowning.

“I don’t know? I wonder what it is?”

I tried touching it and as my finger brushed against the light I felt a pulse going through my whole body and I gasped as I sat up in my bed, leaving me wondering what it was that I had seen.

I heard footsteps in the hallway and saw my door open slightly.

“Alex, are you OK? Did I wake you? I just got in.” She looked closer at me. “You don’t look so good hun.
