I continued looking out the window as I told her about what had happened and how it had felt scarier. Lisa looked taken aback.

“Oh hun, that doesn’t sound so nice. Wonder why they’re turning dark?”

I looked over at her.

“I don’t know, but they feel sad, like I’m losing him.

And I know it sounds crazy, but there you have it.” “Look Alex. She sat up straight pointing at herself. “I

am an artist, and I have an open mind. So it’s all cool, whatever you feel. Sounds like an amazing love story if you ask me.”

“A love story that may end badly,” I said choking back tears. I couldn’t believe how emotional I was getting, it wasn’t like me. Even though I was artistic, I never let myself get carried away like this, like I had with Peter.

The only time I had an outlet for that was when I painted. I guess I held it in and then opened the lid when I was at a canvas creating.

“Look,” Lisa said, putting her forearms on the table and looking serious. “Let’s say you never dream of this guy again, would you rather you had never had any dreams about him at all? Or would you be happy for the time you had together?”

The thought of never having met Peter was crushing, but then again, if you’d never eaten chocolate, you wouldn’t miss it either right? But I would rather miss Peter for the rest of my life, than never having met him at all.

“I’ll remember all the times we had together. I’m happy I have met him, even in this bizarre way. You’re right Lisa.”

“And who knows, maybe you’ll keep dreaming of him until you die?”
