“Hang on, I’ll walk you out,” he said as he put his coat on. We stood outside and I gave him a quick hug. He put his hand beneath my chin to tilt it up and gave me a tiny kiss on my lips. I almost drew back but it was so quick I barely had time to react. And the thing was, it was kinda nice. I hadn’t expected to like it at all. But it was innocent and nothing big, so it felt OK. His last kiss had been too much of everything. I still felt guilty though but I knew I had to put my dreams behind me somehow. Or at least learn to live with it. The way you learn to live with the death of a loved one.
