CHAPTER FOUR

EXERCISE YOUR BELIEF

Marvels are persons with strong individual beliefs. They have what they stand for and hold to it without wavering; however different the beliefs of others.

On my personal studies and observations over some of the greatest preachers the world has produced, I observed that each of them is different in their theological beliefs and teachings. I’ve observed same with ministers who have found that marvelous stint or touch. I observed that they often had to find what they believe from the general consensus belief and exercise their belief.

Martin Luther, the founder of the Lutheran movement had to break away from the general catholic belief that held sway in his time. He faced strong opposition but was firm to defend his beliefs. Many greats we celebrate today are actually people who developed each their personal conviction and got people to believe in what they were convinced was a newer and better way than what has being the statuesque.

I have personally developed my own sets of unique beliefs which I assume is best for me. I don’t try to mimic anyone and I don’t try to rubbish anyone either. I accept that there is some rightness from your perspective and if you are convinced about what you believe and it works for you, you can as well continue with what works.

You know as well that the major reason people develop their own set of new ideas and beliefs is because what worked for that goose failed to work for them. Some persons though are scared to think original of what has been the general thinking pattern because either they are afraid to jump out or they have not developed strong enough conviction and resolve.

Something about our beliefs is that we each have the capacity to develop our beliefs and conviction and defend it against the opinions of what others think or believe. So much as we are different, it is possible to create six billion new movements each consisting of six billion new philosophies and thought pattern. In India for example, there are over 500 million gods being worship.

That’s a ratio of 1: 1.9 for a population of about 900 million.

Personally, I’ve been working on my own sets of beliefs and convictions. I want to know that wherever I find myself, I can stand on what I know and tell people that it works in my life and could easily be replicated in theirs. I need to have working proofs that my sets of beliefs actually works well for me and show others too that it works that’s why I’m hanging on it.

The beauty about your own belief is that it smells like you once you can convince others about it and they can see it also works with them. They always connect somehow to the original source of their belief patterns.

We celebrate certain people for their charisma and audacity to be original. What we don’t know is that sacrifice and determination it took them to find that original voice and pattern that everyone is talking about.

Why should you define your belief pattern? It’s important that you have a defined belief pattern. This is the pattern you can exercise. You can’t exercise what you don’t have.

Here’s how your belief pattern should look like. It should be something you have strong

img5.png Believe about. You are confident that this has the capacity to work and you develop your personal strong conviction about it.

img5.png Energy to pursue. Those who are convinced about anything get enough energy to commit them to that pursuit. They will fight for it with all their might.

img5.png Logical backing. You should have an explanation that works especially when you are hoping to thread a path you wish or would wish others follow you.

img5.png Ideologies made around it. It’s incredible that those who push to become marvels are characterized by strong ideologies that characterize their belief pattern.

img5.png Excitement for. If you are not excited about what you do, you can’t convince others. People are often attracted to people who excite them.

img5.png Faith to work it. When you have a belief pattern, you develop strong confidence and faith that it is going to work and that as many who have that same faith will see it work too.

Our belief pattern has the capacity to mold us into what it looks like. Every marvel you meet has a set of well- defined thinking pattern that you can easily align them with and they stay committed to that pattern no matter what others do to stall them or rubbish them. They are convinced about how they feel and why they think the way they do.

Our belief pattern is what defines who we really are. It creates in us our drive for originality, one attribute of the marvelous man and triggers a beauty that is only characteristic of whom we are.

Now how do you exercise your belief? Having a set of beliefs counts for nothing except you reveal what that belief represents and make it speak. People have to know that you have a strong conviction about what you believe. If you don’t show it, nobody knows it.

  • Make others aware of your strong beliefs. Others are the advertisers who spread your conviction to the world of people around and beyond you.
  • Articulate and make clear your beliefs. Say it and live it. If you don’t say it, don’t expect it.
  • Release yourself into the lifestyle of your belief. Don’t say and be someone else. Say it and act it. If you believe that you have to dress nicely to look attractive and get the attraction and admiration of others, live that way.
  • Validate your belief by showing working examples from your lifestyle that works.
  • Enlighten others on why you believe what you believe. If you don’t tell them, they won’t know. Others may choose to force on you what they believe. It’s good you enlighten them earlier on.
  • Learn from your own mistakes. Those who exercise their personal beliefs often make mistakes and go about the process of learning from their own mistakes. Yes, there’s is a school of thought that supports your learning from the mistakes of others. Well, others make mistakes from their own beliefs. You can afford to lean on your own belief and learn from them.

Your belief is your original you, your philosophy and characteristic attribute. Celebrate it.
