Being present for an ant makes it gain more experiences and learning’s in a short life span. For not to become a prey, a deer is mostly present, mindful, observe and cultivate facultative senses and improve their chances of survival. In such a situation, their life expands manifold and being present teaches them many things even in a short span of life.
Being present to nothing is impossible, so people have evolved meditation techniques to be present to something. Breathing is tangible and it is continuous and always present, so many people focus on breathing to meditate.
Through meditation, getting rest for the brain, body and being happy for oneself is not going to change the world. Escaping from reality will not justify ones living.
As an outcome of meditation, if one could focus the peaceful mind and energies for the common good, it has a greater meaning.
