Damper Pedal Symbols

Damper Pedal symbols (found on the “Other” Symbol Palette) are special, in that they are both graphic symbols and actual Events. This means that if you insert a Damper Pedal symbol in the score, an actual Damper Pedal Event is inserted at the same position. The opposite is also true: if you record Damper Pedal Events (or enter them in another editor), they will be displayed as Damper Pedal symbols in the score.

• The Pedal Down symbol (

• If you have recorded Damper Pedal Events and don’t want them to show in the score, activate the option “Hide Pedal Markers” in the Preferences–Scores–Additional Settings dialog.
