(208-212)  Works of Love Part Two I

Love Builds Up

"Love hopes all things"

Building up and tearing down may have similarities

They are still in stark contradiction

When we see their particularities

Any real link is a fiction

Building up presumes essential health

Tearing down assumes some great need

The building lover works on the self

Tearing down takes love and force-feeds

Tearing down implies a mastery

Building up speaks of its service

The tearing acts on its casuistry

Building knows the ground of love has purpose

Love is patient and thus accepting

Of all the time and thought love takes

Tearing down is often resenting

And the process a burden makes

Building up assumes all burden

Is by the beloved borne

Knowing there is love for certain

Love does not rejoice in wrong

Building in love bears all things

Because it knows and thus believes

Assuming love then love will bring

The beloved to divine relief

In building up there is no break

There's consistency in its presupposition

That love will endure and thus will make

For the building up of the lover's condition
