(214-217) Works Of Love
Part Two II
Love Believes All Things
Love Can't be Deceived
Love itself can't be deceived
That is to be celebrated
Mistrust is always aggrieved
And out of fear created
For love believes in everything
Secure from all deception
Mistrust believes in nothing
A sad, enforced perception
Mistrust is a judgment
In that case, choose we must
That becomes our self-involvement
Is it ourselves we do not trust?
Mistrust can be a projection
Of our self upon all others
In mistrust, do we seek protection
From the truth we might self-discover?
Both mistrust and love share knowledge
What they do not share is faith
Love has been to hard knocks college
Still always kept its grace
Mistrust makes life easy
And also makes it empty
Nothing is felt deeply
To our spirit truly deadly
Love has knowledge and still believes
That for our life we are responsible
Of mistrusting judgments love must grieve
So love believes that all is possible
